Julie “Warm and cat, well equipped and a bit quirky”
- Julie, January 2025 -
Emma “Absolutely stunning cottage full of character.”
Fabulously located with ample parking for two large vehicles which was a bonus. The fully enclosed garden was brilliant for the dogs where they were safe to be let out and with ample space. Just one thing my parents felt they could have done with was a non slip mat in the main shower as they found the shower base quite slippy. We would highly recommend this property and would return.
- Emma, August 2024Jacqui “Thank you for a lovely stay at Rosemaddon.”
The location was perfect for us-shop 2 doors down, 2 pubs & a 5 mins walk to the fabulous beach.. We had children attending Boardmasters & the drive to the shuttle bus in Newquay was around 7/8 mins- so easy for picking up & dropping off. We would happily stay here again. Thank you.
- Jacqui, August 2024Jane “This was our family's third stay at Rosemadden.”
We keep coming back because of it's proximity to the beach and village facilities. The property is spacious and comfortable and has a particularly well equipped kitchen which isn't always the case in rented accommodation.
- Jane, July 2024Stephen “Really enjoyed our stay, Crantock is a lovely village and rosemaddon being in ...”
Really enjoyed our stay, Crantock is a lovely village and rosemaddon being in the heart of the village ,2 local pubs ,walking distance to the beach, Also secluded garden to relax in
- Stephen, June 2024Jill “Spacious house in the centre of Crantock great for walking to all the beaches in the area without having to take the car.”
Because it is old it was really cool in the hot weather and very quiet. The housekeeper made it nice again every Friday as we were there for 3 weeks which was appreciated. We had a smashing time and look forward to going back there again.
- Jill, May 2024Charlotte “A really lovely and comfortable house in a brilliant location right in the centre of the village.”
The only issue was the quality of the WiFi which sometimes was painfully slow and often had to be rebooted.
- Charlotte, March 2024Rose “A lovely light warm cosy cottage, spotlessly clean and with everything you could possibly want.”
Garden ideal for dogs. Located in heart of village and short walk to amazing beach. No mobile signal but WiFi is good. Would definitely book again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
- Rose, March 2024Susan “Yet another wonderful stay at Rosemaddon.”
With its amazing location to the beach, pubs and shop, it’s so perfect to just chill and relax in this huge entertainment space. Greatly helped with its massive super king bed in the main bedroom. We’ve stayed here for many years and will continue to do so. Love it. Thank you so much xx
- Susan, March 2024Liam “Beautiful house in the centre of Crantock.”
Charming, spacious, cozy. My favourite cottage in Cornwall
- Liam, March 2024Fiona “Beautiful home.”
Perfect in every way. Felt very relaxing. Perfect location for the beach….easy walk there and back. Couldn’t wish for anymore!
- Fiona, September 2023Jo “Lovely house, great location - easy walk to beach, pub and village shop.”
The house had everything we needed, would definitely return.
- Jo, August 2023Martin “We’ve been holidaying in Crantock for over twenty years and staying at Rosemaddon was a good experience.”
Incredibly located, the property has beautiful artwork and decoration. The garden at the back is particularly nice and for sure the accommodation is more than adequate as it is spacious. The only downsides were centred around the bathrooms and toilets. The downstairs loo was particularly poor in flushing and the upstairs ones were so loud for so long that no one dared go after 9pm All in all, it was a good experience. Best of luck for the future
- Martin, August 2023Pamela “The perfect holiday!”
Rosemaddon was a wonderful house with everything we needed for us and our dogs. Perfect location too. We loved the holiday and would love to return!!
- Pamela, June 2023Kate “Wonderful accommodation, in a perfect location.”
Safe garden for the dog. Would love to return sometime. Couldn’t fault anything.
- Kate, May 2023Bridget “The property was home from home.”
Well equipped and very comfortable. Up to all is our expectations and more. Thank you Pauline and family for a great stay.
- Bridget, April 2023Liam “Love the house and location!”
It is perfect!
- Liam, March 2023Greg “It felt as though the property was still under covid regulations.”
Having said that property was really great as was location. Would be more than happy to visit again.
- Greg, February 2023Ian “Fabulous, comfortable and spacious property central to the village and so close to the beach.”
Pretty much perfect. We will hopefully be back as soon as we can!
- Ian, January 2023Theresa “We had a lovely New Year at Rosemaddon.”
The property was well equipped, clean and comfy. The Xmas tree and dec’s were perfect and extended the festive period. Would definitely recommend this property and we would definitely book again.
- Theresa, December 2022Steven “A beautiful house with all the home comforts you need, we really appreciated the real christmas tree and pretty decorations.”
In a very pretty village with 2 lovely pubs and lots of lovely walks from the doorstep. A perfect pre christmas break with our family.
- Steven, December 2022Julie “Another great stay at Rosemaddon.”
- Julie, November 2022Matthew “No comments to add, we had a lovely stay”
- Matthew, August 2022Sharon “Only a very couple of small points that I am sure the owner would like to put right , the hot tap in the en suite only ran cold water and the downstairs loo did not flush correctly.”
This is not a complaint just a couple of small observations that need fixing.
- Sharon, June 2022John and Fiona “Perfect! Fantastic stay!”
Beautiful holiday cottage with a home away from home feeling and lots of little extras. Thank you :)
- John and Fiona, June 2022Ann “Lovely property in a gorgeous village.”
Extremely well equipped and clean. Two lovely pubs and the jam jar restaurant which do amazing pizzas . The beach is within walking distance which is stunning. Just one warning , we where all on EE network and there is no signal in the property or village , on the plus side it kept everyone off their phones more
- Ann, June 2022Tracey “Yet another lovely week booked at Rosemaddon, Crantock.”
The cottage is outstanding, it has everything you can think of for your stay. Beautiful garden, ideally situated in the village for the beach, opposite bus stop which has a regular bus service. This is our second visit and have booked again for next year.
- Tracey, April 2022Rebecca “We had a lovely holiday in Crantock village with a perfect location of the cottage.”
The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable.
- Rebecca, April 2022Gayle “Beautiful place to stay, everything we needed for a family holiday.”
I’d definitely stay there again. A lovely house in a lovely village.
- Gayle, April 2022Liam “A wonderful place.”
Perfect! We loved it.
- Liam, March 2022David “The property provided the perfect setting for our family holiday.”
We would not hesitate to return and/or recommend to others
- David, February 2022Martin “We ( a couple and two dogs) have had a wonderful holiday.”
We booked 5 days before and the service from both Sykes and the owner have been brilliant with no problems at all. We loved everything about the cottage including very clean, very warm and very comfortable with everything we needed including washing machine, tumble dryer, hairdryer and iron. Garden was completely enclosed so we felt very comfortable letting the dogs out for a while. Crantock is a lovely village with a little convenience store next door and two really good dog friendly pubs (5 minute walk). There is a cafe too but unfortunately closed in January. A 10 minute stroll gets you to Crantock's beautiful and sandy beach. A great base to see lots of different parts of Cornwall but fantastic places right on the doorstep including lovely walks to Holywell Bay or Newquay (Newquay summer only as there is a ferry). Thanks very much
- Martin, January 2022Laura “This was the perfect place for a wonderful Christmas break.”
The decorations were beautiful. We didn’t realise there was a downstairs toilet and a utility room. This was a real bonus! The cottage is beautifully situated in the centre of the village, 15 minutes walk from the beach. It would have been helpful to have had some information about the house on arrival, like what day is rubbish/recycling day etc. It was a fantastic holiday and we hope to be back.
- Laura, December 2021Richard “Rosemadden is a truly wonderful property, centrally located in the beautiful village of Crantock.”
We have stayed there several times in the past and are in love with both Crantock and Rosemadden. It’s spacious, light and airy, yet cosy and comfortable. The bedrooms are large with plenty of storage and the beds incredibly comfortable. There is literally everything you need to feel like Rosemadden is your home from home. The garden is lovely and completely safe if you are travelling with dogs. In short, the perfect accommodation in a stunning village, walking distance to the best beach in Cornwall. I can’t wait until we’re back.
- Richard, December 2021Matt “Our 2nd visit and with good reason.”
The property is great, particularly for an autumn stay when a cosy environment wins over garden etc. Proximity to the beach is great too; meaning we can avoid using the car.
- Matt, October 2021Fiona “Lovely house in a lovely location - now visited many times and will be back!”
- Fiona, October 2021Trudi “It was lovely holiday with the family, near the beach; a comfortable, unusual house with a pleasant garden; in a delightful village with a well stocked shop next door; and several good local pubs.”
My only concern was that we did not realise that we were required to strip the beds as we left, which we would willingly have done. There were no instructions in the cottage. I did not receive the e-mail from Helpful Holidays until my return home (I didn't look at my messages whilst on holiday)
- Trudi, August 2021Sarah “We have stayed at this property twice now.”
Location excellent just a short walk to the beach. The beach car parks get full very quickly as the beach is so family friendly and dog friendly. The property is well equipped with everything. Thank you so so much
- Sarah, July 2021Jane “Our second stay in this property.”
Comfortable, spacious house with very well equipped kitchen. Easy walking distance to Crantock beach is a big plus. Request for extra facilities for one member of the party was fully met. Thanks for a great stay.
- Jane, July 2021John and Fiona “Wonderful cottage, beautiful location, fantastic holiday!”
Thank you
- John and Fiona, June 2021Liz “Rosemaddon was a joy to stay at.”
Perfectly situated for the beach, eating and drinking establishments and near to all the places we had planned to visit. This house had the most lovely atmosphere much to my husbands relief as I always pick up on a 'feel' to a house and was a perfect layout for us. Our numbers had reduced to myself, husband and Oscar the dog. originally our son, his girlfriend and young son would have accompanied us, there would still have been plenty of space for us all. We slept really well, found the position of the house to be extremely quiet despite being in the centre of the village. Would highly recommend 'The Jam Jar' for pizzas - superb. Also, we have already booked Rosemaddon for the same time next year. This is something we rarely do but it ticked all our boxes and more.
- Liz, April 2021Joyce “We love Crantock and come back every year.”
This was our first stay at Rosemaddon Cottage. The cottage was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. On the Sykes information for the cottage it stated that check in was from 4pm, however after we booked it the information we were sent said check in was from 6pm. Then upon organising the keys, the owner advised check in was from 4:30pm. Only suggestion is that the information on check in time is consistent. Thanks for a lovely holiday!!
- Joyce, April 2021Lucy “Great location, really lovely cottage, extremely comfortable and clean.”
We had a fantastic time. Loved Crantock!
- Lucy, April 2021Ollie & Kate “Rosemadden is an absolutely beautiful place to stay, it is warm, well equipped and well positioned for the convenience of the Beach and Local shop.”
It wants for nothing. We had a wonderful stay, thank you.
- Ollie & Kate, December 2020Roger R I “Super house beautifully furnished & equipped - everything supplied as listed - direct contact with Owners very helpful .”
A holiday home to be enjoyed & respected .
- Roger R I, September 2020Claire “The cottage and helpfulness of the owner was spot on.”
However Sykes customer service assistant very rude and dismissive when asked to query checking in earlier than the revised Covid time which another assistant had already said is possible and transferred me to this other rude man. One speaking to another person who said they would look into it, I never heard back at all so then called the owner once I was provided the number which was under a week before going.
- Claire, August 2020Lyndsey “The owner of the cottage, Pauline, could not be friendlier or more accommodating.”
She was so laid back and helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Our holiday was perfect and I can’t wait to return.
- Lyndsey, July 2020Anna “A wonderful week in beautiful Crantock and the cottage was absolutely perfect!”
It was really well equipped and spacious with a pretty little garden and just a ten minute walk from a wonderful beach. We will definitely be back!
- Anna, July 2020Liam “Rosemaddon is a wonderful cottage.”
It is beautifully presented, full of character, spacious yet cosy. There was plenty of room for three adult couples and two dogs. It had every facility and utensil you would ever need. Right in the heart of the lovely village of Crantock, 30 seconds from the village shop, literally a 5 minute walk to the beach it is in the perfect spot. We loved it. The accommodation manager was wonderfully helpful. The whole experience was outstanding. We will definitely be going again.
- Liam, March 2020Helen “An amazing cottage in a beautiful village.”
We arrived the week before Xmas to find the cottage all decorated which looked stunning. Such a warm and cosy retreat after many beach walks and Cornwall experiences. We wanted for nothing, so well equipped. Already looking forward to returning
- Helen, December 2019Lynne “Rosemadden is not a holiday home, it’s a ‘home’.”
I don’t think you could wish for anything more in a house. We loved it and it’s very dog friendly. Garden may not be huge but when you have the beautiful coastal walks and beaches to near it’s not a problem and the garden is kept beautifully. The house is huge especially the kitchen/dinning . The kitchen is the best equipped we have ever had and it’s all lovely and clean. Beds are wonderful and the art work makes it a home from home. We didn’t want to leave.
- Lynne, September 2019Ian “Excellent location in the amazing Crantock village.”
Such a beautiful cottage and relaxing holiday. Planning our return trip already!
- Ian, July 2019M “Beautiful house,best we've stayed in.”
Very clean and everything you could want. Situated right in the beautiful village of crantock a short walk from the amazing beach. Definitely go again.
- M, May 2019Tracy “Had and enjoyable time cottage well equipt and very clean”
- Tracy, May 2019Jeremy “Having stayed at this property previously it was just as good as the first time ...”
Having stayed at this property previously it was just as good as the first time there This is a fantastic property in the heart of the village in easy access of the beaches, local store pubs and close to Newquay, Padstow, St Ives and Truro I look forward to staying again
- Jeremy, March 2019Terri “The cottage was so unusual and despite being very spacious it still felt cosy.”
It was truly a home from home and gave the kids room to breath and us all not be on top of each other. Being in the heart of Crantock was also the bonus for us. Highly recommend
- Terri, August 2018Linda “Crantock is a beautiful village & to stay in Rosemaddon was perfect The house was ideal for a family & dog!”
Home from home with all the amenities expected - & top quality ones at that. Cleanliness & comfort in the house was second to none. Great to have car parking & private garden - great for a barbecue or a peaceful drink after a long day on the beach Location was superb - only 5 mins to walk to the beach or National Trust countryside I really shouldn’t give such a glowing report as we want to come back next year & don’t want it to be fully booked!!
