“Lovely spacious house.”

Great location. Would have liked more information about what was there. We were travelling on public transport so would have been helpful to know about household basics. They were provided but no info in advance.

“Overall the property met our needs.”

The location was great and very spacious, with some really nice features and character. The only downside was parking, although described as a quiet road. We had an infant child and my Mother is disabled so not finding parking close by was a real let down. The other disappointment was the cleanliness of the property. The windows were extremely dirty and the floors felt like they weren’t cleaned as our child’s toys were covered in dirt and fluff after being on the floor. Most of the utensils and dining-ware needed cleaning. Most of the culinary knives were faulty, the ice and water dispenser from the freezer didn’t work, along with the wine cooler not in working order (although advertised on the listing). The few times the TV was used, the screen went blank, but wasn’t too unhappy as we were on holiday so wasn’t the focal point of our stay. Overall I felt the property just needs a little TLC. After my recent experience, I wouldn’t stay here again nor recommend.

We are sorry that you had some difficulties with parking. The parking is on-street parking, so is based on a first come, first served basis, so should you go out you cannot guarantee to have the same parking space on your return. Florence Place has street parking as well as Florence Terrace, Trelawney Road and Marlborough Road. We were surprised to hear of some cleanliness issues, as the property is thoroughly cleaned during each changeover and the kitchen utensils are checked every week. There are two knife blocks in the kitchen as well as additional knives in the drawers and we are not aware that any are faulty. We are also sorry to hear there were some issues with the TV, we had been advised that the TV was in working order, so we will arrange for the engineer to come back to take another look. We will also check the water/ice dispenser on the fridge. A window cleaner attends the property once a month to clean the windows. Had you made us aware of these issues during your stay we would have done all we could to rectify things. Property Owner

“Wonderful house in a beautiful location.”

Quality of kitchenware very high! We all enjoyed our stay and it was lovely to be able to have our dogs with us. Only issue was when something tripped a fuse and we had to call the management company to get access to the fuse box.

“The property was amazing.”

It suited our needs. There was a lovely hamper which included treats for the dogs. When we arrived it was warm and the Christmas decorations really did make it Christmassy. It was extremely well equipped. None of us could fault it. We had a wonderful magical Christmas at 1 Florence Place. If we could bottle it and sell it we would make a fortune.

“We loved this property, it’s a beautiful period home in a great location.”

It was very well equipped and comfortable with lots of lovely touches for us and our dog. We had an issue with the heating in the top bedroom, the pressure had dropped and tried to call the property manager in the folder but didn’t get a reply. It might be a wrong number? My 92 year old mum was with us so we wanted to get it sorted for her as she feels the cold and the top bedroom was very cold for me . We called Helpful Holidays who managed to get hold of him via the housekeeper but it took another day. Apart from that we absolutely loved the house and holiday , thank you

We have instigated a new protocol for contacting our property manager should the need arise, after the difficulty you had, we are asking guests to text his number in the first instance and say it’s about the property so he is alerted to the issue and expecting the call. I think in this instance he was working across more than one property and so didn’t realise the urgency. “What a beautiful house!”

! We absolutely loved Florence Place!! Such a fantastic period property! It was a pleasure to return here at the end of our busy days during our holiday! Such attention to detail!! The house was very clean, well cared for and welcoming! The beds were very comfortable. A real 'home from home '! We were able to park both our cars either outside or just around the corner every day.Would love to come back again!

Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry parking was more difficult during your stay. Sometimes when there are events in Falmouth it makes it harder to park. The property details do specify there is no private parking at the house and it is street parking only. There are usually spaces on Trelawney Road, next to the front gate or Florence Place, Florence Terrace or Marlborough Road, all are less than five minutes walk away. Property Owner

I received a parking ticket as a result of one area close to the house is a one hour limit, but I did not know that. We actually had to time going out and coming back to when we thought we would be able to park. None of this is clear in the details of the house I loved the house and would love to go back but would not book it again simply because of the lack of parking.

Kitchen was a real home from home. We had a very comfortable, family oriented and relaxing stay. Only downside/minor inconvenience was street parking but this is an issue in the town’s residential areas in general.

“The house was lovely the problem was when we got there the first thing when opening the front door was a dead mouse in the hall way I know this cant be helped.”

but the whole house was dirty we spent a few hours cleaning the place up all the bins were full and loads of empty beer bottles left in court yard. The main bathroom was filthy hair in the bath and a grime ring around the tub you really need to get a new cleaner the drains overflowed every time you used the shower or washed up. As I say the house was perfect but needs a good deep clean and a new cleaner in-between guests
