The property

This charming, one-bedroom home: Honeymoon Cottage is located right in the centre of Appledore, a quayside village in north Devon.

A well-equipped, petite hideaway for a couple or small family, Honeymoon Cottage blends charm and style, whilst resting a stone’s throw away from a hub of amenities and the coast; three guests are welcome, along with a well-behaved, four-legged friend.

Honeymoon Cottage is ideally situated being just a short walk to the quayside, with spectacular views of the estuary and across to Instow yet enjoying the relative peace and tranquillity of this secluded lane.

Park your car along the nearby roadside, before taking a short walk to your new home. Once inside, you'll find a homely open-plan living area where you can prepare meals in the small, yet well-equipped kitchen, dine as a three, and relax in front of the TV.

Take in the character of the home by appreciating the exposed brickwork and restored well where you can set your own atmosphere by illuminating the well in your own choice of colour and take yourself back in time to the cottage's origins.

Take a seat on the front bench, enjoy your surroundings and watch the world go by.

As the night unfolds, head upstairs to the family bedroom, which features a plush double bed and a convenient 2'6 single bed, giving everyone plenty of space to rest, with hanging rail and chest of drawers for storing clothes. The cottage includes an en-suite bathroom where you can freshen up and get ready for your upcoming days, ready to explore the area.

Start off close to home by touring Appledore, where you can stock up on necessities and have brunch at the Market Street Kitchen Café; then head to the quay, stroll across Gray Sands Beach, or enjoy a walk through Northam Burrows Country Park. The next stretch of coastline will take you to Westward Ho! Beach, a haven for surfing and watersports.

Consider making a stop in Bideford, where you can visit the Burton Art Gallery and Museum or birdwatch at the Kenwith River Nature Reserve, whilst the picturesque and historic fishing village of Clovelly, on the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast is an ideal destination for those with an interest in maritime history.

Tour the North Devon Coast, which is bordered by expansive beaches, stopping at Woolacombe Beach, or ascending to the Baggy Point vantage point before heading back home for a romantic evening in.

Enjoy all that Devon has to offer at Honeymoon Cottage.
