    “The property is quaint with exposed beams in the ceilings and a good amount of interior decoration.”

    It was very clean and tidy - even the coffee plunger was clean! The Kitchen is small with one sink, and, not having a dishwasher, a dish drying rack would have been good (perhaps it got broken?). We used an oven tray rack as a substitute. Only having 4 sets of cutlery, plates, bowls and mugs does ensure the dishes get done! You do need a decent amount of mobility to stay here as the toilet is upstairs with the bathroom, and the two steps up to the front door are quite high, so any knee or hip ...

The bedroom and bathroom upstairs are good, the King size bed does fit without being too snug. It didn't matter at this time of year as we could have the windows open. We utilised the fact that the front door is a stable door, it was handy The location is not to far up the street from the waterfront, and there is a little bit of up-hill walking to get to the courtyard door. Whilst there are restaurants and Pubs nearby, the is little noise pollution and we slept soundly. Car parking is not an issue after the main school holidays, and we managed to find a spot on the main waterfront roads 4 out of the 5 days we were there, so paid less than £3 for the whole time we were there. We don't normally try properties where we can't park the car nearby, but with a bit of organisation, we managed it and were experts at what we needed when and where by the 3rd day of our stay. If you like to be surrounded by quaint sea village life with artisan food and crafts, this is the place for you.

The Village in a Village Cottages are a simply stunning selection of cottages, settled around a pretty courtyard in the seaside town of Appledore, Devon. Where the Taw and Torridge rivers meet, sits the delightful quayside village of Appledore, next to the River Torridge. Appledore boasts a small but great range of shops, pubs, guesthouses and art galleries. A thriving fishing and trading village since the 14th century, Appledore has been a famous boat-building centre for many years and the shipyard is still active today. Picturesque Appledore provides a peaceful base from which to explore North Devon, and is close to surf beaches.The Quay is very central to life in the village and it is here you will find many activities including fishing trips, crabbing contests on the quay, and sometimes Morris Dancers. This quaint fishing village has a maze of narrow streets leading to the quay.
