“Bit disappointed when we arrived, the appearance on the outside was not as good as the pictures on your site.”

The outside of the property needs a re-paint and the summerhouse needs repair. The inside of the property was very good. It was very comfortable. Excellent well equipped kitchen. Nice bathroom. The owners have rightly been concentrating on the inside. The outside now needs some "TLC".

The property

Nestled in a quiet cul-de-sac in the village of Bradworthy, Devon, rests this remarkable holiday home, Ash Tree Cottage.

Boasting spectacular views across the surrounding countryside, Ash Tree Cottage is an idyllic base for a small family wanting to explore the delights of North Devon.

A large gravel driveway greets you upon arrival to the cottage, leading you to the front door of the holiday home, inviting you to step over the threshold and enter into the hallway, kicking off your shoes as you continue through to the utility room, making use of the handy washing machine to freshen up your walking gear before continuing through to the main area of the house.

The holiday home boasts an open-plan living space, featuring a delightful country farmhouse-style interior décor, fit with an amply-equipped kitchen homing a rustic range cooker, a wooden dining table offering a sociable hub to gather with your group to enjoy a hearty meal after a day of adventure, and a cosy sitting area, where you can settle down for the evening on the leather sofas positioned in front of the television and enjoy a family movie night.

As the evening grows darker, head outside to the garden to toast a glass of fizz with your significant other, relishing in the tranquil setting as you watch the sunset across the scenic green landscape.

Completing the ground floor is a convenient cloakroom with a basin and WC.

When sleep calls, head upstairs where you'll find two bedrooms, a spacious double and a twin, both maintaining the property's traditional character with rustic wooden furnishings, and framing fabulous views across the distant countryside through the windows.

Servicing the bedrooms is the family bathroom, where you can choose between unwinding with a soak in the bath or rinsing off with the overhead shower.

In the morning, take a peaceful seat in the elegant wooden summerhouse, tucked away in the garden, to indulge in a steaming cup of coffee before heading out for the day.

Take the short stroll into the center of Bradworthy where you can browse a small selection of quaint village stores that line the streets, stopping for a bite to eat at the family-run Bradworthy Inn, set in a traditional 16th-century coaching inn and serving locally sourced produce and refreshing pints of real ale.

Pack the essentials and head off to the nearby harbour village of Clovelly, beautifully decorated with cobbled streets and traditional architecture, and enjoy a revitalizing dip in the sea at the beach, soaking in the breath-taking sight of Clovelly Waterfall, cascading down the cliff face to the beach.

Browse the quaint shops that the village hosts, picking up a keepsake to take home, and indulge in traditional Devonshire cream tea at Cottage Tea Rooms Clovelly.

Spend a fun-filled day out with the kids at Milky Way Adventure Park, one of the 10 best theme parks in the UK, and take on the towering Cosmic Typhoon roller coaster, soaking in the views of the scenic North Devon coastline when you reach the top, or explore the 3000 square meters of The Milky Way Maze.

With something to please everyone in Devon, choose Ash Tree Cottage as the perfect place for an unforgettable holiday.
