“Lovely cottage, big bed and lovely spacious bathroom.”

Only a little niggle, settee not too comfortable after a while especially with a larger husband. Maybe a foot stool would be a useful addition. A few more knives forks and spoons so you dont have to use the dishwasher so often or wash up.

Fantastic bed.. so comfortable. There was everything there that you could need and the owners are so accommodating. Our dog loved being able to go out into the enclosed garden and was mesmerised by the black sheep on the adjoining field. It’s so quiet and comfortable. It’s a real gem

“We loved our very relaxing stay here.”

Perfect as an upside down cottage, giving us the wonderful countryside views (including sheep, cows, horses and a very cute chicken). Excellent location for places of interest to visit. Helen and Stephen left us a delicious selection of treats as a welcome on arrival, including dog treats for our Retriever/Labrador! She loved playing in the big garden too. “Lovely cottage, quiet area but close to local farm shop, main roads etc.”

As a note the area by the bedroom is gated off fully so you can let your dogs out at night. The picture only shows 1 set of gates around the concrete area but it is fully closed off. TV in bedroom and lounge. Great views and great place to stay.

A great place to relax and/or explore the borders between Devon and Cornwall. The friendly hosts provided plenty of helpful information regarding the area (and facilities). Also great for our two little dogs, with a fenced off garden area. Highly recommended.

Location and facilites were excellent we could not have asked for more. The bed was exceptionally comfortable with the additional bonus of a TV in the bedroom. Kitchen and living room excellent and if you have a dog you can just open the bedroom door in the enclosed area.

“This was our second stay at Langham House Cottage and we weren't disappointed.”

The cottage was as comfortable and well equipped as last year. The garden is fantastic for the dog, lovely and secure and we didn't need to worry if we let her out into the garden on her own. There are so many lovely places to visit nearby, Thank you Helen and Stephen for the welcome pack and a lovely relaxing break. We may even come back again next year which is something we have never done before but this place is a real gem!

“Lovely place to stay, everything you could need.”

Only constructive feedback, it would have been great to have some kind of pouffe or an extra living room chair to be able to put your feet up and relax by the fire. Views were wonderful and great to be able to let the dogs roam freely down in the allocated grassed area. The wardrobe in the bedroom could have been full size to allow for dresses rather than having to hang them on the back of bedroom door. All in all though a wonderful place to stay, thank you.

“Lovely stay exactly what was written about cottage.”

Peaceful with plenty of room for two. Our only downfall was our dog was unsure of field because of telegraph pole with power lines. Apparently dogs lose their sense of smell so lost many balls in the field. Would highly recommend. Thankyou

“Absolutely brilliant stay!”

The place is absolutely gorgeous and the photos don't even do it justice. We didnt see the owners during our stay but were greeted with a little note with their number, bread, milk, biscuits and dog treats. Such a lovely touch! The views are stunning with a balcony that leads to an enclosed garden that is perfect for the dog. Fire place is stunning and real feature, perfect on those chilly nights. The bed is so comfortable and huge, didn't want to leave! There has been some real thought about how the practical the house is, it's the little things like the dressing table being well lit with plug sockets underneath. Bathroom was my favorite room, even the mirror lights up and has a Bluetooth speaker. it really is a luxury stay and is absolutely spotless. Highly recommend this to anyone. Thank you for having us.

“We absolutely loved this cottage.”

It was perfect for what we needed for a few days of walking and relaxing. The owners have really put a lot of thought into the layout and amenities. We were so comfortable here that we definitely would love to come back again. Having the outside space for our dog was a game changer to as it was perfectly fenced for his needs. He could go out and play and we could watch him from the terrace. The owners left us a nice welcome package too which was a super nice touch! We couldn't recommend this place more!

Beautiful views, warm and really well kitted out (I was living the dream with a NEFF oven!). Helen is a great host and really welcoming and relaxed. We came both times in November and did some great walks on Dartmoor and back to a woodburner and a film, perfect before a busy Christmas season at work.

“The property throughout was extremely clean and both the bathroom and kitchen were excellent.”

The bed was probably the most comfortable we have ever encountered. The owners left a welcome pack (a very thoughtful touch) and they also provided an information pack on the local area which included their own favourite places to visit as well as places to eat. There is a balcony off the upstairs kitchen/lounge area with lovely views over the fields. If the weather had been a little better we would certainly have made more use of it. The owners live in the house next to the cottage and are on hand if needed, which is reassuring. A lovely property in a peaceful spot and we can thoroughly recommend a stay at Langham House Cottage.

The cottage is exactly as described, spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished with good quality appliances. It was well equipped with everything you would need and a very concise information folder was there for your use. The fully secure garden was perfect for our boxer Billy and he spent many hours out there happily playing with a ball. The huge bed is super comfortable and the rain shower is fabulous. The views are to die for and you are surrounded by sheep, cows and horses. It was perfect for us and we will definitely be back.

Helen and Stephen have gone out of their way to make this property as comfortable as possible, you have everything you need. They are so welcoming but not intrusive and nothing is too much trouble. There was a lovely welcoming pack of bread, milk, biscuits and strawberry jam, plus dog biscuits! There is a large enclosed garden overlooking fields which our 8 month old puppy loved, We would love to come back next year which is something we have never done but this place was perfect.

Great bathroom with large bath and great shower. Fantastic view overlooking fields and an orchard and the countryside beyond. Close to Lifton and the amazing Strawberry Fields farm shop and just half an hour from Bude. The English Spirits distillery is local and does tours and tastings. We travelled a bit further to visit Fowey, Tintagel, Hayle beach and The Eden Project. Would love to come and stay again. Helen and Stephen are lovely and left a welcome package with bread, jam, milk and biscuits. The cottage is clean and has everything you need to feel at home.

Property was lovely and clean, lawn freshly mown and a thoughtful welcome gift. The view from the balcony is beautiful, we witnessed some amazing sunsets and did some star gazing at night. The garden was great for our dog as it is fully enclosed and safe. It is also a great base to explore many places in Devon and Cornwall. We especially enjoyed Padstow, Polperro, St Nectans Glen (sturdy shoes required), Golitha Falls and the beach at Bude. Would highly recommend this wonderful Cottage. 5 stars!

Helen and Stephen made myself, my husband and our 4 1/2 month old Labradoodle feel exceptionally welcome and we could not fault everything about the cottage or the hosts. The most fantastic location with the most outstanding views of the countryside….. Seeing Cows, Sheep, Chickens, Pheasants and an assortment of birds was delightful and sitting on the balcony eating breakfast watching the world go by (well animals) was something that you cannot imagine by just reading the write up on the cottage. We didn’t want to leave!! We never really want to visit the same place twice, simply because we have been there but we will DEFINITELY visit LHC again in the future. Probably the best staycation we have ever had !!

The owners are nice, friendly and helpful people. Our stay at the cottage was extremely comfortable as everything had been thought of the only very small downside was the chairs to the table on the balcony. We really enjoyed our evening meals on the balcony but couldn't sit for to long as the chairs became quickly uncomfortable. Please people except that as a very minor complaint as the whole experience with this cottage is amazing it's a really must try cottage. Being here is a really central place for visiting north and south coasts.

What a lovely place to stay, the bed was so comfy if you do not have a great nights sleep then I dont know where you will have a better one. The bathroom is of a high standard. I would advise the owners to just check and adjust the shower doors as they were not closing as they should be and I would hate to see the lovely flooring get damaged by water from the shower. The kitchen and living room area has everything you need to have a nice relaxing breakfast or evening meal after you have been out for the day. The weather was mixed so didnt get a chance to sit outside and enjoy the view. It was very quiet which is just perfect for myself and my partner. I can not recommend this place highly enough and I would book this property again.

Launceston 5 miles.

Lifton is a small village in the upper Tamar Valley, close to Launceston and the passing A30 road into Cornwall. This pretty community, once sitting astride the old A30 London to Penzance trunk road, is blessed with a village shop and post office, a superb pub and 3 top quality restaurants. At the far end of the village is an award winning farm shop/pick-your-own complex with a good bakery and on-site restaurant. Well placed for visiting anywhere in the South West, Dartmoor is 20 minutes away by car, Bodmin Moor is also 30 minutes and all of the major beaches and Cornish holiday attractions can be reached in under 45 minutes.
