“We had a thoroughly fantastic and relaxing stay at this lovely gem of a property.”

Welcomed on arrival by our friendly hosts and provided with milk and a lovely loaf of locally baked bread. Also greeted by beautiful flowers and tasty chocolates so kindly provided. Kestorway is well equipped with everything for a comfortable and memorable stay. The history of the property is fascinating and the views from all windows amazing. Walking on Dartmoor is accessible from the front door and the small moorland towns of Chagford and Moretonhampstead worth exploring. Such a lovely place ...

We are delighted to have received such a lovely and complimentary review - thank you so much! It was lovely to meet you both and we are pleased you enjoyed your holiday - you obviously fully appreciated the location of Kestorway as well as taking the opportunity during the week to travel further afield to enjoy the many wonderful and historical sites which Devon can offer. Please do return as our guests - it would be an absolute pleasure to see you both again. Warm wishes - Pauline and Jim Property Owner

The property

3 miles from Chagford, on the edge of the moors, is Kestor, a stunningly beautiful Dartmoor tor.

Tucked into the side of the wooded Teign Gorge valley, an annexe to a house with the most fabulous views over this lush moorland and meadows.

Binoculars are advisable to watch the sparrowhawks, buzzards, deer and many other wild creatures which live around.

The open moor starts at the front gate, so cars can be left, walking boots donned and modern life avoided.

Approached along 70 yards of stone track, a gate opens to a path over the lawn which leads to your front door.

Hall for coats/boots.

Living room with great views, woodburner, small TV/DVD and door to garden which surrounds the whole house.

Kitchen/dining room (washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker), sunroom with garden views.

Double bedroom with pretty views; shower-room (suite).

Family and friends welcome to camp on site (extra), by arrangement.

Spring water.

A fantastic place for serious walkers or for simply wandering Dartmoor's valleys and tors to soak up the spectacular views and peace.

CHAGFORD

Okehampton 12 miles; Exeter 21 miles.

A picturesque town at the northern point of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. Chagford, one of the five Stannary towns of Dartmoor, is small in size but is packed with amenities and things to do. There is a wide range of shops as well as four pubs. Chagford also has more active facilities such as public tennis court and an open-air swimming pool to enjoy at your leisure. It is a town of great history, home to the Three Crowns Hotel which dates back to the 1200's. Chagford is well known for its culture, hosting film, literary and music festivals in the town as well as an annual running race, known as Two Hills Race. Just over 21 miles away is the bustling, beautiful city of Exeter for a different kind of break, definitely worth a visit. The charming, attractive town of Okehampton sits just 12 miles away.
