    “Unfortunately our stay had some issues.”

    The cleanliness seems to have been a light touch due to us arriving (on time at 3pm) and the cleaning still in progress. After handover we found clumps of grey hair on the dressing table and long hairs in the bath. The hoover and wet mop & bucket were stored in a cupboard opposite the bedroom and stunk so we had to move them out into the back porch and purchase a fragranced candle. The owner advised the sink was leaking in the bathroom but it took until Thursday to get this fixed then we had to ...

The hoover and wet mop & bucket were stored in a cupboard opposite the bedroom and stunk so we had to move them out into the back porch and purchase a fragranced candle. The owner advised the sink was leaking in the bathroom but it took until Thursday to get this fixed then we had to leave for 24hrs for the silicone to set so Friday (1 day left) until we could use the bathroom sink. There was a small mountain of rubbish/food waste left at the front door from previous residents and this also began to smell. The owner agreed to get this collected after we raised it but this never happened meaning a week of smelly rubbish at the front door. Given the amount of steps required to access the property I would have expected as a minimum non slip paint as these became very dangerous when wet and I did actually slip down the front steps. Some quick wins to consider: A general tidy up of the front. & back stairs as has a depressing feel to it. Non slip paint on the stairs is a must Store the cleaning mop and bucket outside in the rear porch Consider a standing lamp in the corner of the lounge for a little evening ambience A shelf above the bathroom & en-suite sinks to allow you to put toothbrushes on etc. some towel rails in both rooms and a bath mat for the en-suite.
