It sits within the extensive grounds and gardens of the owners’ friendly farmhouse in Yelverton, Devon.

With a woodburning stove, a pet-friendly policy, and countryside surroundings, this wonderful abode welcomes families and friends, idyllic for a rural retreat in the heart of the Dartmoor National Park.

This detached cottage features private access and parking, with a gravel path leading through a charming flower and shrub garden to ten steps that ascend to a raised, unfenced garden (use caution).

A further eight uneven steps lead down to the entrance.

A paddock is available for walking dogs, and there is storage for bicycles.

Inside, the cottage combines simplicity with sophistication, featuring limestone floors downstairs and wood flooring upstairs.

The spacious, light-filled, open-plan living/dining/kitchen area is well-appointed with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric oven, and induction hob, all housed in handcrafted cupboards.

The space also includes a woodburning stove, a TV with a Blu-ray player, and glazed double doors on either side—one offering views of the garden and the other opening onto a patio/decked area with lovely, long, wooded rural views.

From the living area, two staircases lead to different parts of the home: one ascends to a mezzanine single bedroom with a table football and games, while the other descends to two additional bedrooms.

These include a king-size bedroom with storage and TV and a king-size (zip/link) bedroom with storage.

The lower-ground-floor level also features a beautifully-presented bathroom with a roll-top, freestanding bath and a walk-in shower, a utility room (with a washing machine and tumble dryer) that opens to a garden via eight steps, and a small shower room with a corner walk-in shower.

The cottage sleeps a maximum of four adults and one child.

Nearby attractions include Buckland Abbey, The Garden House and Burrator Reservoir. The South Devon coast is within easy reach for day trips to Salcombe and the pretty riverside village of Newton Ferrers.
