At the heart of the charming village of Cornworthy you will find the beautiful Court Prior Cottage.

The elegant and timeless interior balances the beauty of the property’s original features with the stylish and thoughtful furnishings throughout.

This attractive accommodation provides a wonderful base for families to explore the beautiful South Hams district of South Devon.

From coast to moor, beach café to Michelin restaurant, there is something for everyone here.

Enter through a timber porch into the warmth of the open-plan living space, having left your coats, wellies, walking shoes and other outside wear in the beautiful traditional porch.

Furnished with stylish sofas the Smart TV allows evenings of movie streaming or simply indulge in a warming tipple whilst relaxing with a good book in front of the flames from the wood burning stove.

A dining table to the side brings family and friends together at mealtimes and the fabulously well-equipped kitchen provides ample space to create culinary delights or morning breakfast with that all-important freshly brewed morning coffee. Two beautiful bedrooms can be found on the first floor with luxury crisp Egyptian cotton linen and en-suite bathrooms, with robes and luxury guest toiletries.

Guests can choose between the spacious king-size bedroom with its en-suite bathroom or snuggle in the 4"6 double with its en-suite shower room.

Outside and to the front, you will find the beautiful cottage garden, enclosed, walled and private with an ancient vine, this is an enchanting spot to soak up the summer sun or enjoy an evening barbecue.

The popular village pub is a gentle walk for a quick sundowner and the famous riverside Maltsters Arms is a delightful riverside 5 minute stroll following the footpath across from the cottage.

When you are ready to explore further afield, the picturesque riverside village of Dittisham 2.6 miles away, famous for its crabbing, the gorgeous Anchorestone café and the FBI, aka the Ferry Boat Inn is just a couple of miles away.

At the mouth of the River Dart, 5 miles from Cornworthy you will find the maritime town of Dartmouth, where you can stroll along the embankment or browse the ancient cobbled streets lined with cafes and galleries.

The Elizabethan town of Totnes, just 4 miles away, offers our guests street markets, organic foods, wonderful independent shops and great cafes.

To make your time at Court Prior just that little bit more relaxing, your hosts next door offer a professional catering service to the cottage; this can range from a family on-arrival meal through to a celebratory feast, simply enquire before your arrival.

Totnes 4.4 miles

Cornworthy is a picturesque village in the sought-after South Hams area of Devon that dates back to Saxon times. Much of the village makes up part of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The coastal towns of Dittisham and Dartmouth are nearby and provide excellent opportunities for marine activities and some of the UKs best seafood restaurants (such as The Seahorse). Totnes is also a short drive away, an attractive, vibrant town, which also includes a railway station that provides direct services to London Paddington in under three hours. For shopping addicts Totnes offers an excellent range of small independent retailers and unique shops. The town is famed for its promotion of ethical products, wholefoods and fair trade goods. In the Civil Hall Square you’ll find the weekly market which is held on Fridays and Saturdays. And an Elizabethan market held each Tuesday morning (May-September), when traders dress in Elizabethan period costumes and the Totnes Sunday Good Food Market.
