    “We were welcomed when we arrived.”

The property

In Hawkchurch, 200 yards from the pub, Puffin Cottage is a detached single-storey cottage converted from an artist’s studio.

It looks over its own patio (table/chairs) and pretty lawned garden (small unfenced wildlife pond); small lawned area (loungers) to one side.

In the owners' paddock are chickens, geese and a veg patch (eggs and fresh seasonal organic veg available).Inside, all smart and stylish with oak floors in the living areas and bedrooms.

From the patio, French windows into naturally light living/dining/fitted kitchen (slimline dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge-freezer, electric cooker) with big windows, multi-fuel burner, large white leather sofa, TV/DVD; 3 steps up to two bedrooms - a double (5' bed), and one with single plus pull out truckle bed for a child.

Smart slate-floored bathroom (suite with roll-top bath plus hand-shower and separate shower).

Axminster 4 miles; Lyme Regis 6.9 miles.

Hawkchurch is a village in Devon, England, 3 miles north east of Axminster on the border of Devon and Dorset, and about 6 miles south of Somerset. It is 4 miles north of the tourist and fishing village of Lyme Regis. Hawkchurch has a village shop which is run as a community venture. The village pub, The Old Inn, is a traditional coaching house and a hostelry which has been on the site since 1543. Nearby Axminster, which is one of Devon’s prettiest smaller towns, and has many attractions, including plenty of privately owned shops, a weekly market and excellent old inns, with one dating back 100 years with its own resident ghost! The seaside town of Lyme Regis has much to offer visitors with many craft and antique shops, galleries and cafes. The scenic coastal path offers excellent walking opportunities and spectacular views of the stunning Jurassic coast, whilst the gently shelving sands and sparkling waters of Lyme Bay provide the perfect place in which to relax and unwind. Where ever you decide, Hawkchurch is an ideal place to enjoy with easy access to many areas around Dorset and Devon at any time of the year.
