“Cottage is lovely and in a great location with access to great walks and pubs, plus easy access to the city.”

The only minor niggle was the parking when the neighbour parked too far over and I could barely get my car in and no room to open the doors.

The property

4 Barton Cottages, an end terrace Victorian cottage is one of a group of five creating a courtyard beside meadows on the fringes of Down Thomas, Devon.

With plenty of original charm, the stylish decor feels bright and welcoming as you enter through the front door into the attractive lounge with a warming log burner and exposed beams.

Two steps take you down into the well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven and gas hob, larder fridge, freezer, washing machine, and microwave.

Head upstairs to your two bedrooms - one double and one twin, where soothing colours and immaculately presented, crisp white bedlinen create a haven for restful nights after busy days exploring.

Awake to a refreshing shower or enjoy a leisurely soak in the smart family bathroom.

To the front of the cottage, you have an enclosed paved terrace, sheltered by pretty planting and ideal for enjoying morning coffee or lounging with afternoon refreshments, and a small lawned area to the side.

This is an excellent location for a wide variety of interests with city and stunning coastline to explore, and the sandy beach and cliff top cafes at Bovisand Bay just a mile from the cottage.

The Devon Wildlife Trust's Wembury Marine Centre at Wembury Beach, where you can swim and explore the rock pools is not much further.

You are just over 5 miles from the heart of the vibrant Ocean City of Plymouth where you can shop, eat out, visit The Box Museum or National Marine Aquarium, tour the famous Plymouth Gin Distillery, or discover the maritime history of the city by boat; the Theatre Royal and Plymouth Pavilions often play host to touring national shows and acts.

Paddle or kayak at the nearby Mount Batten Watersports Centre beside the marina or just enjoy trekking this scenic section of the South West Coast Path where you will pass by hidden coves, former military fortifications, and challenging clifftop golf courses.

With such a wide variety of things to see and do on the doorstep, 4 Barton Cottages makes an excellent base, with something for every interest.
