“BEAUTIFUL APARTMENT WITH A STUNNING VIEW Tastefully furnished and decorated throughout and very comfortable.”

Kitchen appliances all worked well, although a larger fridge freezer would be an improvement. There were some maintenance issues, which should be easily rectifiable: We found it impossible to operate the lounge blinds and very difficult to open/close the curtains in the main bedroom. Door lock main ensuite - missing its knob. Dripping tap in utility. NOTE OF ABOVE LEFT FOR HOUSEKEEPER Apart from the above, everything was wonderful and we would like to thank you for the generous welcome ...

The property

Set in Exmoor National Park, this luxurious three storey, grade II listed, holiday cottage is exquisitely located on North Devon’s breathtaking coastline with an elevated position, boasting panoramic sea views over the Bristol Channel.

Having once stayed in Lynton Cottages, the stunning view so inspired the author CS Lewis, author of The Chronicles of Narnia that he wrote in his journal, “The view from the balcony was beyond everything I have ever seen” (Lynton, 1925).

Set in one of the prettiest coastal locations in England, with opportunities to explore Exmoor National Park and its magnificent natural beauty, this picturesque cottage exudes style and character from top to bottom.

Perfect for couples, or a family of four, the accommodation boasts very spacious bedrooms and an open-plan living space with free super-fast WiFi throughout! The kitchen is equipped with quality furniture and fixtures, and additionally a fridge/freezer and washing facilities are located in the utility room for convenience.

There is also a ground floor cloakroom just off the utility room.

Relax together in the sitting area and feast your eyes on the stunning vistas out across the water that so moved CS Lewis.

The rugged scenery envelopes this fairy tale property with a picture postcard setting.

Bring the view even closer by throwing open the glass doors to the patio and enjoying the fabulous view from your private terrace.

The first floor is host to an impressive hand-carved superking sized four poster bed, in a room overlooking the bay, with an en-suite bathroom.

On the second level you will find another luxury, superking sized bed in a light and airy room with beautiful exposed beams.

From here you can step out on the to balcony and enjoy more of the delightful seascapes from a seated position which catches the late afternoon sun.

Lynton offers shops, pubs and cafes galore, art galleries and craft shops, a wide variety of outdoor pursuits, and spectacular walks for all abilities in some of the most beautiful surroundings in the UK.

The beach and picturesque coastal town of Lynmouth can be easily accessed on foot from the cottage (no need to move the car!) by use of the historic funicular cliff railway which is the highest and steepest totally water-powered railway in the world!

The terminal for this exciting and unusual form of transport is situated just 5 minutes’ walk from the cottage so you can easily enjoy everything that the two towns have to offer.

Why not set off from the cottage along the beautiful South West Coastal Path to the magnificent Valley of Rocks, hire kayaks, go horse-riding in Exmoor, visit Exmouth Zoo or travel on the Lynton and Barnstaple Railway?

Little ones will also enjoy the Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park and the nearby sandy beaches of Ilfracombe and Woolacombe.

Just a few ideas of the many things to see and do in and around this charming area of North Devon.
