A journey to the historic market town of Barnstaple is worth a visit and offers some good shopping along with cinema and plenty of nightlife.

Lynton and Lynmouth are close by and boast a water powered funicular which connects the two towns and are set where the sea meets Exmoor National Park.

The park is a fabulous day out for walkers and cyclists offering outstanding scenery and some wonderful spots for a picnic, take a wonderful walk along Watersmeet, where you can stop and have lunch at the cafe by the waters edge and dip your toes in the cool river. This is a perfect choice whether you wish to park and forget the car or use as a base to explore this beautiful area of Devon.
