“We had an amazing time at Totherside.”

The house is beautiful and the views from the floor to ceiling windows are spectacular. Even our teenagers enjoyed sitting by the windows and taking in the view, watching the boats and the steam train. It is comfortable and really spacious. We all want to go back when the weather is warmer so we can enjoy table tennis and sitting outside in one of the many outside seating areas. Our Vauxhall Zafira Tourer was just fitted down the road with the wing mirrors folded in.

The property

Arguably with the best views in Kingswear, Totherside aptly named for its Kingwear location is a magnificent 4 bedroom holiday home, enjoying a prime coastal position overlooking the River Dart towards Dartmouth and Waterhead Creek.

A perfect choice for family and friends who desire a holiday home of supreme comfort with year round appeal. Designed to take full advantage of the uninterrupted views, a distinctive glazed gable end provides breathtaking views from the spacious lounge that has been furnished with understated luxury.

On sunny days, relaxing on the magnificent decking area, screened with glass for privacy and shelter, is pure heaven.

Furnished with hardwood patio chairs and tables, where better to enjoy the catch of the day, or sizzling hot dogs on the barbecue.

A further rear patio is enclosed allowing safe play for children and a table tennis table is available (stored in the shed) to keep the kids entertained.

If reclining in the sun is your preferred method of relaxation, enjoy the sun loungers on the lower patio, the occasional unmistakable sound of the Paignton and Dartmouth Steam train that runs along this spectacular coast, transporting you to a bygone era.

There are four tasteful bedrooms the master bedroom is en-suite with walk-in wardrobe and has a private river facing balcony.

A children room, equipped with pull out guest bed and desk can double up as study if preferred. A five minute ferry trip will bring you to the boutiques, cafes and fine dining restaurants that line the historic cobbled streets of Dartmouth, and a short drive will take you to the Blue Flag beach of Blackpool Sands or the sandy beaches of Torbay. As the evening shadows begin to fall over Dartmouth, the true pleasure of being positioned across the river becomes apparent, as the colourful houses of Kingswear are bathed in glorious evening sunshine and where sunsets and evening barbecues on the deck at Totherside, become the envy of all on the other side of town! This magical spot is approached via a steep and very narrow road, unsuitable for large or wide vehicles (max 6'6'').

Alternative parking can be found in the marina car park at the bottom of the hill.

Access to the front door is via 40 steps up through planted terraces.

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
