    “We both enjoyed our stay and the cottage lived up to our expectations, with treats to welcome us and our two greyhounds being a bonus.”

    The weather was unseasonably cold early in the week, and the owners promptly supplied additional heating. The Manor Inn just round the corner was welcoming, and the food there was excellent. We enjoyed watching the wild birds from the large windows; we sometimes saw three woodpeckers at a time, as well as a nuthatch and lots of tits and finches. We spent our days visiting local churches, driving over the moors, eating out then relaxing in the very comfortable sitting-room.

A pretty little village set on the fringes of the Dartmoor National Park in Devon. It is a fantastic place for a peaceful holiday with beautiful scenery all around with hills, fields, rivers and stunning thatched cottages. Lower Ashton offers a charming pub. The village comes in a fantastic location with all sorts of great places nearby. The bustling, beautiful city of Exeter comes within a short drive and offers incredible architecture, amenities and so much to do. If you fancy a trip to the beach, head to the lovely seaside town of Exmouth which offers a museum and an amusement centre with so much more. The market town of Newton Abbott is also easily accessible and is worth the visit. The Dartmoor National Park is a great place to come nearby, with a golf course within walking distance there is also incredible views, walking and cycling.
