This detached cottage is in a truly rural position, two and a half miles from the ancient village of North Molton, which nudges the foothills of Exmoor.

This lovely cottage will appeal to walkers, birdwatchers and botanists alike, being situated along a partially unmetalled country lane and footpath lined with wild flowers and providing ample woodland walks nearby along the River Mole.

The cottage also overlooks peaceful meadows.

Inside, the cottage has a large kitchen/diner with patio doors opening to the enclosed rear garden, which is ideal for taking supper outside in the summer.

The cosy sitting room even has a piano, a superb room for relaxing in after a busy day.

The three bedrooms sleep up to four guests, share a bathroom and all overlook the fields and woodlands beyond.

The local Riverside Caravan & Camping Park, which is just over half a mile away, along a footpath, has facilities including a clubhouse, shop open to non-residents and specimen carp and coarse fishing lakes.

Alternatively, you can take the footpath through a beautiful wooded valley and stroll into the old mining village of North Molton, where there is a friendly pub and shop.

This location is ideal for exploring the heather-clad Exmoor hills with their native stags.

Couples will love the fabulous long sandy beaches at Saunton and Woolacombe, ideal for safe bathing, surfing or walking amongst the soft sand dunes that back the beaches.

This is an ideal rural retreat for both country lovers and beachcombers.

NORTH MOLTON

South Molton 1.5 miles; Dulverton 11 miles; Barnstaple 12 miles.

The ancient village of North Molton is an ideal base from which to explore Exmoor and North Devon’s dramatic coast. The village boasts a friendly pub, Post Office and a village shop offering home-grown produce from local farms and delicious home-baked goods, while just a few miles away, the pretty town of South Molton offers a range of shops and a twice weekly market. Being pleasantly close to both coastal and inland beauty spots, this quaint village is sure to suit visitors of all tastes. Within easy reach are forests, moors, rivers and beaches, along with churches and other buildings of historical significance, whilst just a mile or so away is the border of the Exmoor National Park. There is superb walking on the South West Coast Path and the North Devon coastline is varied and interesting. Visit the National Trust's Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as pretty places worth visiting including Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the charming little village of Withypool. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and for some of the best beaches in the country, a day trip to Woolacombe and Saunton are not to be missed.
