Enjoying a superb location within the Exmoor National Park, with easy access to the Dunkery & Horner Wood National Nature Reserve and fantastic country views, Hedgehog Cottage is a brilliant pet-friendly dwelling for couples or a family of four, plus their canine companion, who are looking to explore Somerset.

Be welcomed into the well-equipped kitchen, where you can look forward to rustling up mouth-watering meals with the help of the electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge, freezer which can be found under the stairs, and a handy dishwasher for those fuss-free clean-ups!

Settle down at the dining table for four as the wine is poured, and plans are made for the days ahead.

After a hearty meal, retreat to the homely sitting room where you can curl up in front of the crackling woodburning stove and select the evenings entertainment, courtesy of the TV.

Climb the stairs to the first floor where you will find a well-appointed bathroom, perfect for when you want to indulge in a soothing soak or refreshing shower.

When sleep calls, retire to one of two well-presented bedrooms to catch your rest, a king-size and a twin, both with plenty of storage for your belongings.

Awake for a leisurely slumber and prepare for the day in style, before savouring your morning coffee out in the lawned garden as your canine companion stretches their legs.

Venture into the village where you will find a petrol station with a well-stocked convenience store for picking up any last-minute essentials, an all-weather court for those looking to play a little sport whilst on holiday, and the welcoming Rest & Be Thankful Inn which serves tasty pub meals and local ales, perfect for those evenings where you don’t feel like cooking!

Just a short drive away is Exford, where you can enjoy the pretty village scenery with a walk along the River Exe followed by a sweet treat in one of the tearooms.

The keen walkers in your party will delight at the easy access to some of the best walks in the area, including the River Barle valleys and the highest point in Exmoor, Dunkery Beacon which offers expansive views of the countryside and surrounding counties.

Make a stop in Dulverton, where you can learn more about the local history at the Dulverton Heritage Centre, or if history isn’t your thing, head over to Minehead where you can enjoy the delights of the coast.

A wander through Minehead will find the beautiful Blenheim Gardens, the Minehead Museum and the West Somerset Railway.

There is also the glorious Minehead Beach where you can spend a day on the sands bathing, paddling the shores or tucking into fresh fish and chips.

Wheddon Cross is a small village in the heart of Exmoor National Park, a thriving rural community with village shop, friendly pub and an all-weather court which is available for many sports including tennis, netball and basketball. Nearby is the picturesque village of Exford, situated in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. In a lovely setting by the River Exe, Exford boasts a village green, tea rooms, a shop, Post Office and two traditional inns serving excellent food and drinks. Exford is at the centre of a walkers' paradise with many miles of waymarked paths down the Exe and River Barle valleys and up to the nearby hills, including Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor, with outstanding views over 17 counties.
