“The House was nice and comfortable.”

Lots of useful items present. Unfortunately there was only one adult tennis racket present. The heated floor in the downstairs bathroom was very nice. The upstairs shower was rather mouldy which was a shame, and the blinds of the velux windows often got stuck. There was an unpleasant smell when the washing machine was in use (I believe the pipes could use a clean). Overall the stay was very enjoyable and we would go back in future. Thank you for a lovely holiday.

Thank you for taking the time to write your comments. I'm glad that you enjoyed your stay, and found the cottage comfortable and well equipped. We don't supply sports equipment as people usually bring their own, but this racket is there just to help out. There is a new set of table tennis bats. We stayed at the cottage last week, and agree there was mould in the upstairs shower, due to the safety non-slip mat being left wet. As for the Velux blinds, renewing them is unfortunately not a viable proposition. We used the washing machine and didn't find any odour. Maybe it hadn't been used for a while. We would be very pleased if you decide to come back again, despite these inconveniences! Property Owner

The property

St Aubyn Cottage is one of a number of cottages at Rowden Court, a selected development converted from Grade II listed farm buildings near the coastal footpath and rugged cliff walks.

This comfortable 'upside down' cottage is arranged over three floors, sitting mid-row and looking over the shared inner courtyard.

Inside, the welcoming, cosy interior has been well-furnished with pretty fabrics, painted exposed beams and interesting local artwork.

Stepping into the property from the courtyard, you enter a hallway, where you can kick off your boots, and are greeted with three ground floor bedrooms: a double and two twin, with a family bathroom with shower over the bath.

Stairs lead up to the open-plan living room and dining area with seating for up to eight people.

Settle down on the comfy sofas and enjoy the benefits of the electric fireplace keeping you warm during those chilly evenings while you watch TV, play games or read a book from the bookshelf. The kitchen has an impressive, well-equipped set of white fitted units and spacious wooden worktops, ideal for preparing a home cooked meal for the friends or family.

Further stairs lead up to the second floor and the enormous master bedroom with a king-size bed, TV/DVD player, with an en-suite bathroom, bath and separate shower, both with Velux windows, some sloping ceilings and exposed beams.

With a communal games room and laundry facilities, including table tennis, dart board, washing machines and tumble driers, there is nothing this property doesn't have to offer.

It shares a 1½ acre well-maintained garden to the south, a short distance from the cottage, where you can use the tennis court, barbecue and picnic tables, a lovely place to dine together in a natural setting.

The beautiful South West Coast Path is less than half a mile away, Dramatic Stoke Beach with its cliffs is just down the hill, and unspoilt Mothecombe Beach on the Erme estuary is 4 miles along the coast road with a large car park.

These beaches are paradise for your dog, where they can swim, run and play with other dogs without being on the lead.

Birdwatchers and people interested in wildlife will find plenty to interest them in the immediate vicinity, including cirl buntings, peregrine falcons and dolphins! Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo are adjoining small villages beside the River Yealm estuary, sheltered by oak-wooded hillsides, and are popular for sailing, walking or just sitting and soaking in the magnificent scenery.

The roads immediately around the villages are mostly country lanes, so sometimes narrow with passing places to allow two vehicles to pass.

You will find local shops and pubs with great food also nearby.

There is a low tide footpath across the creek and local tennis courts and riding stables.

A good quality, stylish and cosy cottage, well-suited for a group of friends or one or two families to share.

Note: This property can be booked with Ref. 1128788, together sleeping 14 guests.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
