    “While the property isn't quite as isolated as the pictures suggest (the property is behind the owners house at the end of their drive) it is absolutely private and peaceful and a great getaway for anyone wanting to wake up surrounded by the sound of bird song.”

    Jim was a great host, even checking what wine we'd like on arrival! The only improvement would be the addition of curtains on the 'porthole' windows in the bedroom to help prevent being woken up at first light.

The property

Treetops really is a true 'hideaway'.

Situated half a mile down a no-through road (directly overlooking the Bristol Channel and leading to the beach) with almost no passing traffic, it is surrounded by National Trust woodland where fallow and red deer are frequent visitors.

There are superb views of the coastline from above the bay and, for keen walkers, the South West Coast Path is very close by.

The rocky cove at Woody Bay, reputed haunt of smugglers which has a sandy beach at low tide, is about ten minutes' walk further down the lane, while the famous Valley of the Rocks is a short distance to the east.Treetops is nestled in the hillside above the courtyard behind the main house.

It is reached by a flight of wooden steps leading to a large, private deck area looking towards the sea (partially visible, especially in winter).

The whole of the front of the building is glass, flooding the interior with light, and the conversion has produced an extremely attractive Scandinavian feel with lots of pale wood, bright rugs, comfortable furniture and modern fittings to make it a wonderful place in which to escape.
