“We stayed there for a week in this very clean and perfect house.”

Amazing views from the livingroom and the terrace. To stay there in the cliff is giantly. We enjoyed watching the birds, the sky and the sea. The owner Graham is very kindly and helpful. The way down to clenavon is o.k., but you have to carry your luggage up and down.

The property

With spectacular panoramic views along the Rame peninsula, you'll find Glenavon sitting high atop the cliffs at Whitsand Bay.

This gorgeous detached cliffside cabin can be reached via a rambling cliff path - the position is breath-taking and perfect for beach-lovers and surfers.

Inside the cabin is fresh, modern and contemporary with an open plan living/dining room and smart fitted kitchen area all with panoramic sea views.

There are two lovely bedrooms; on the first floor nestled in the eaves (low head height), a king-size double with an en-suite rainfall shower.

At the end of a hot and busy day, you can throw open the velux windows, slip between the sheets and simply listen to the wind and the waves below whilst watching the stars above.

On the ground floor the second bedroom is ideal for children and has a cabin and a single bed.

There's also a family bathroom.

To the side of the cabin there is a neat lawned area and at the rear with nothing between you and the view, a patio seating area perfect for enjoying cocktails and a spot of dolphin spotting as the sun sinks below the horizon.

Whitsand Bay beach is just 130 metres further along the cliff path (steep access) and a very handy outside shower is on hand so that you can rinse sandy boards and wetsuits.

Nearby is Mount Edgcumbe Country Park, the very pretty twin fishing villages of Kingsand and Cawsand where you can enjoy seaside dining in one of several good pubs.

Foot/car ferries await to whisk you away to Plymouth, Devon's Ocean City, home to the historic Barbican, Hoe, National Marine Aquarium, and shops, bars and restaurants aplenty.

Glenavon is a truly special destination.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.

About the location

WHITSAND BAY

Torpoint 5 miles.

Set in a bowl of hills at the head of a tidal creek that leads to the Hamoaze, opposite the great naval city of Plymouth, Millbrook is located on the Rame Peninsula, "Cornwall's Forgotten Corner". Bounded by the Lynher and Tamar rivers, the Hamoaze and the sea, the area is deeply rural and designated as one of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village has a good range of shops and pubs, while close by are the pretty coastal villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, from which a ferry will take you to Plymouth. Along the southern edges of the peninsula are miles of beautiful walks with glorious views of Rame Head. Just a mile south of Millbrook lies Whitsand Bay with its miles of uncrowded sandy RNLI patrolled beach and dramatic cliffs. A superb base for discovering the wild side of Cornwall.

Note: Access to Glenavon is via 100m of uneven coastal footpath followed by 70 steps. It is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

Note: Due to the open nature of the rear garden, this property is not suitable for children under 8 and older children and pets must be under close control at all times.
