The property

A very welcoming detached cottage, situated along the lane from the owner’s home, in rural West Somerset, close to the coast.

This cottage provides a quiet retreat close to fabulous walks and open countryside, and with easy access to the coast makes it a great base for a romantic escape.

There's a modern, open plan living area, while the kitchen is great for cooking up a hearty meal after a long day out and about.

This cottage is very dog-friendly and boasts front and rear enclosed gardens, so your four-legged friends can stretch their legs safely, while the doggy welcome pack provided by the owner comes complete with homemade dog biscuits.

The secluded and private garden overlooks open Somerset countryside, and provides a peaceful, sunny spot to unwind.

There are plenty of fabulous walking opportunities, including the beautiful Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the stunning West Somerset Coast path, which can be accessed only a mile from the cottage, and which takes in some beaches rich in fossils.

Also the Steart Beach and Nature Reserve, which is a popular place for birdwatchers is only a short drive away.

There are a host of country pubs within easy reach, ideal for a lazy lunch after an active morning of fishing, golf or horse riding.

Further afield is Weston-super-Mare with its golden beaches and traditional donkey rides, while within touring distance is the beautiful cathedral at Wells, Cheddar Gorge, plenty of National Trust properties, the wild beauty of Exmoor, and fantastic shopping to enjoy at Clarks Village and the historic town of Taunton.

This cottage provides a fabulous location for exploring the south west, all year round.

About the location

STOGURSEY

Bridgwater 9 miles; Watchet 10 miles.

The quiet village of Stogursey is situated close to the Quantock Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and only a mile from the sea. To the west lies Exmoor, and to the east are the Somerset Levels, Glastonbury and Wells. The village has a traditional friendly pub, a couple of village shops and an interesting castle with pretty moat. The Somerset Levels is one of the best places in the world for birdwatching, and the local Steart Peninsula, to the north of Stogursey, is part of the Bridgwater Bay National Nature Reserve (NNR) and is a vast area which is part of a larger Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). For a spot of relaxing fishing, the nearby Burton Springs Fishery is regarded as one of Somerset’s finest and most tranquil fisheries, and has the benefit of three spring-fed lakes. The Coleridge Way is a beautiful 36-mile walking route through the stunning Somerset countryside of the Quantock Hills, the Brendon Hills and Exmoor, a landscape that inspired Coleridge to produce some of his best-known work. Children may enjoy Tropiquaria at Watchet or just playing on the beach. Locally, hunting for fossils in Kilve is always popular, or the steam train at Bishops Lydeard. This lovely village is a great base for exploring the area.

Please NOTE: No EV Charging is permitted at this property. Charging point close-by at main supermarket.
