The property

This cosy detached stone barn conversion is situated adjacent to the owners' farmhouse on the outskirts of Uffculme, a Devon village in the Blackdown Hills.

A perfect romantic retreat, this Uffculme cottage is all on the ground floor and has wooden floors throughout.

The open-plan living area is a characterful haven to relax, divided between a cosy lounge, a dining area, and a kitchen, all overlooked by exposed A-framed beams.

This same sense of country charm continues through to the double bedroom, dressed in neutral bedding, and thoughtfully accessorised.

A shower room ties this all together, comprising of a classic white suite, with lovely tiled floors.

Outside, this Devon cottage there is a courtyard garden from where guests are welcome to wander over to a wildlife pond.

The village of Uffculme has a shop, pub, splendid walks along the River Culm and Coldharbour Mill, which is the only surviving woollen mill in Devon and has a fascinating working museum.

Half an hour's drive from this Uffculme cottage will take you to the beautiful cathedral city of Exeter, which has a mix of culture, historic buildings, a cathedral, and a theatre.

Michelin Star Restaurants all lie a short distance away, and Devon boasts some of the finest food including the Darts Farm, Exeter Food Festival, and The Jack in the Green Inn.

Within easy reach of Exmoor and Dartmoor, and the likes of Wellington, High Park Barn is also a great base for exploring the Jurassic coast, and Lyme Regis, pleasing walkers with the Tiverton Canal, and the South West Coast Path.

A wonderful cottage in a memorable part of Devon.
