The cottage is very well equipped. EXCEPTIONALLY clean, settled right in and felt at home. If you love the Jurassic Coast, here is the ideal base with the knowledege a parking space is reserved. I would highly recommend Cuckoo Cottage to all who are happy to drive, it is a little far to walk to a bus route for days out.

Quiet and peaceful yet within walking distance of the lovely market town of Bridport. A good uphill walk on the return journey but take your time and enjoy the surroundings and the views when you get to the top. Chris and Kevin are ideal hosts, welcoming, friendly and there if you need them but you don’t feel you are being watched. Would highly recommend this property.

This is ideal for those who like a base to go from and explore areas of Dorset either by foot or bus if they don't want to use the car and go for a decent meal in the town from one of the many eating places

Spotlessly clean and well maintained. In an enviable position with great views and only a 10 min walk into Bridport. Walks from your door and very central for exploring both the coast and country of Dorset. Everything you need for a self catering cottage. Great cottage with owners on hand if you need anything. The welcome basket was much appreciated. Kevin made sure we had everything we needed and gave us some great recommendations for local restaurants and pubs. We visited in January and were lucky with the weather and did a few nice walks in the area when it was less crowded. I would highly recommend Cuckoo Cottage to any couple who want to explore the Bridport area, it is set in a very quiet area with great views but only a short walk into town.

The owners, Kevin and Chris who live next door, were welcoming and helpful when asked. We appreciated the Dorset tea, Moore biscuits and milk when we arrived. We breakfasted on the patio (weather permitting!) with a lovely green view over the valley. The cottage was spacious and comfortable, and on rainy days we were happy to 'stay at home'. An added bonus was the dedicated off-road car parking space. The only downside for us (we are in our 80s) was that although the town and the pub were indeed less than a mile, they were down a very steep hill which we couldn't manage. Perhaps this could be included in the description? Nevertheless an ideal holiday cottage.

Set in a quiet area of Bridport the cottage has all the facilities you need. The bed is a good size & very comfortable. Good bathroom with shower & bath. The outlook is excellent over the town towards the landward side of West Bay cliffs. 5/10 minute walk into the town centre. Chris & Kevin are the perfect hosts. Thoroughly recommend this accommodation

It was immaculately clean, gorgeous views and only a short walk into Bridport with shops, pubs and restaurants. Plenty to see and do without taking your car but so much more short drives away. Kevin and Chris are lovely people who are on hand if you needed anything and also happy to advise of best places to eat and visit. We would not hesitate to return and happy to recommend to our family and friends.

The accommodation is much larger than the photos show. The facilities and the hosts are outstanding, there literally was everything you could ever need in a permanent home, much more than you would expect in a holiday let. We spent a wonderful 4-weeks at Cuckoo Cottage and would highly recommend. Not only is the location fantastic for Bridport/West Bay but ideal for the rest of Dorset and Devon.

Bridport is a very good centre for exploring the Dorset coast, full of small independent shops, and at least two excellent cafes. The street market was good fun, too.

It has everything you could possibly require to have a wonderful, relaxing holiday. With a stunning view to enjoy, especially whilst enjoying a glass of wine on the patio. The hosts have thought of everything and are very prompt at responding to any questions and the information folders provided were invaluable as was Kevin’s suggestions of places and restaurants to visit. The cottage is brilliantly located to walk into Bridport which is a lovely town to shop or dine out. We visited most of the Jurassic Coast from Bridport to Poole and always thrilled to arrive back to Cuckoo cottage.

The accommodation is modern, clean and well appointed with a safe secure parking facility. Some basic resources such as washing liquid, dishwasher and washing machine tabs are provided and the welcome pack of local items and milk was very much appreciated. The owners are friendly but are not intrusive despite also living on site in the main house behind Cuckoo Cottage. We would highly recommend this accommodation and be very happy to visit again

Attached to the owners home at the top of Coneygar Hill in Bridport, it provides a wonderful view across the valley and to the hills beyond both from the living room, patio and the bedroom. In easy walking distance of the town, though it's lovely position does mean an uphill walk back, and well placed for easy access by car to the various attractions of the area. The owners are very pleasant and helpful and helped make our stay a very enjoyable one.

We found plenty to enjoy locally, particularly as we stayed during the week of the Folk festival, and appreciated the independent shops, cafes and galleries of the town. Being fortunate to have good weather, we enjoyed breakfast on the sunny patio most mornings and, being within relatively easy distance of West Bay, Lyme Regis and other attractions of the region, Cuckoo Cottage was a perfect base to explore from. It was also reassuring to have a designated parking space, just outside the door, to return to after a busy day's sightseeing. We appreciated the thoughtful extra touches provided by the owners and would love to stay here again.

BRIDPORT
Lyme Regis 10 miles; West Bay 2 miles.
The attractive market town of Bridport grew up around the River Brit, and was shaped by its extensive history of rope and net making. The long, wide streets and alleyways between the houses were once where the flax strands were twisted into rope, while today those streets are filled with an interesting variety of shops, restaurants and inns. Bridport’s market is regularly featured on the River Cottage TV programme. 2 miles south of Bridport is the dramatic Jurassic coast at West Bay, now a World Heritage Site, home to the backdrop for TV's Harbour Lights and the coastal setting for popular Broadchurch, whilst the picturesque resort of Lyme Regis is within 10 miles.
