We found the barns location in East Lambrook was a great base to explore Somerset further & cannot recommend more highly. The owners where very welcoming. “Cherrywood Barn was an excellent property to stay in - quite spacious for 2 plus our dog, with very clean, modern facilities (eg oven), and a lovely setting behind the owners house surrounded by trees, flowers, and a lovely lawn with the sounds of nature a really soothing and relaxing background.”

We felt really welcomed on arrival and was able to use the property as a great base to visit other places, but also lovely for local walks and a couple of evening meals in the local pub. Definitely a place that we will consider going back to

“Cherrywood Barn was very comfortable and spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a relaxing break and more.”

Our hosts were very friendly and approachable. The setting was quiet and peaceful but with plenty of opportunities to explore all that Somerset had to offer. Will definitely return in the future and would definitely recommend to family and friends.

“Had a lovely stay at Cherrywood Barn, everything was spot on.”

Our only problem was we could not figure how to work the oven and microwave as digital, difficult for older people like us but we had planned to eat out most of the time so not really a problem. We were very lucky with the weather so we're able to make the most of the lovely balcony and peaceful surroundings. Local pub a very short walk away and fantastic Sunday lunch. Owners Catherine and Derek were so nice and the Lemon cake and Apple Juice were so nice to have on arrival. Only thing we feel that could have improved our stay would be to have access to a couple of relaxing garden chairs to enjoy the garden. Will definitely recommend to friends and family.

This property is outstanding ! Extremely well built, tastefully decorated, comfortably furnished and equipped with everything you need. The bathroom is perfectly set out and the bedroom has lots of space and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space for 2. Having the covered balcony is a nice touch, offering somewhere tranquil to sit on a warm evening and enjoy a glass of whatever you fancy. The Lemon Drizzle cake and Apple Juice were greatly appreciated too ! It was great choice for a base for our excursions, within walking distance of the local pub for evening meals and a drink. We would recommend Cherrywood Barn to any couple looking for a friendly retreat.

“Cherrywood Barn was a delight to stay in.”

Catherine and Derek were very welcoming. There was a delicious cake and their own apple juice to enjoy whilst relaxing on the balcony. The barn itself was spacious, modern and clean with quality bedding, as was everything else provided. There are nice walks from Cherrywood Barn itself, particularly to South Petherton that is just right for a circular walk as there are cafes to break the journey and a baker selling locally made bread. The nursery and garden at East Lambrook is a must for plant lovers. We have a further two weeks booked later on in the summer and can’t wait to go again.

We enjoyed sitting on the veranda having a cuppa watching all the wildlife. Owner met us at the bottom of the lane as we arrived much later than expected. We would have struggled to find it in the dark. Very welcoming. We throughly enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone wishing for a relaxing break. Thank you. Peacefully situated in East Lambrook, the Cherrywood Barn is a great place for a break in a rural setting - walks start from the garden. Yet all amenities are nearby; the pub around the corner and all the shops within walking distance in South Petherton. Recommended!

Plenty of interesting places to visit close by , Montacute House was a joy to go round, and lunch at the Kings Arms at Montacute is highly recommended.We will definitely be back here.

“The cottage is in the most beautiful picturesque village and meeting the locals was a real highlight.”

We used the cottage as a base to work from and to adventure around Somerset, Devon and Dorset. After long walks and sea air it was nice to come back to the cottage, to sit on the veranda, drink some home made apple juice and cider, eat some home made lemon drizzle cake whilst watching the sunset over the apple orchard. We never wanted to leave.

The bed was comfortable, the shower was powerful & large & the kitchen was well equipped. Derek & Catherine were excellent hosts, who’re knowledgable about the area & who also make good cider on site(!) . The lemon drizzle cake which came with the welcome gifts was DELICIOUS!! The property

Cherrywood Barn is a newly converted, detached, stone built barn In the very pretty village of East Lambrook, about a mile from South Petherton.

In order to make the very most of the lovely rural views, the accommodation is arranged on the first floor and is thoroughly stylish and beautifully finished throughout.

Accessed via a wooden staircase, at the front of the barn you'll find a large balcony with table and chairs.

This is the perfect spot to sit and take in views of the neighboring orchard where an abundance of wildlife including owls, deer, badgers and pheasant may be seen.

Inside, the bright and airy living space is open plan with striking beams, hard floors and velux windows to bring in the light.

The kitchen area is well fitted with everything you'll need to enjoy a delicious meal before retiring to the boutique style bedroom with its kingsize bed and en-suite shower.

This area of Somerset is home to some of the best large houses and gardens in the UK including Forde Abbey Gardens, Barrington Court, Montacute House, Tintinhull Gardens and Lytes Cary.

For interesting days out The Haynes Motor Museum and Fleet Air Arm Museum are both within easy reach and well worth a visit.

Whatever you decide, you are sure to make wonderful memories at Cherrywood Barn.

SOUTH PETHERTON

Crewkerne 5 miles.

The small, attractive town of South Petherton is surrounded by South Somerset's glorious countryside, with the town's central conservation area boasting a wealth of lovely hamstone buildings, oozing quiet, timeless charm, and with local inns serving good food, real ales and Somerset ciders. There are numerous National Trust properties and places of interest to visit nearby, including Lambrooke Gardens, Elizabethan Montecute House, and the Medieval Monastery at Forde Abbey. Within a short drive can be found the Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton, as well as Haynes Motor Museum, explore mystical Glastonbury, or marvel at Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole Caves. Alternatively, take a day trip to majestic Bath, or Dorset's Jurassic Coast at Lyme Regis. This is a great holiday base from which to explore this lovely part of the country.
