    “We stayed at Apple Barn as a family of 9 with three generations.”

    The house was well equipped for our 2, 3 and 6 year olds with travel cot, stair gates, high chair, smaller cutlery and plenty of space to run around outside. The house was clean and tidy and had everything we needed to self cater. The hot tub was a treat and we enjoyed using the bbq. The house and gardens were really well kept and the owners gave us a warm welcome and were very attentive. We enjoyed being in the countryside surrounded by farmland, it was so peaceful.

The property

This beautiful detached North Molton cottage has a lofty open plan living space with floor-to-ceiling windows, vaulted beamed ceilings and a woodburner, creating a room filled with light and a cosy atmosphere on cooler occasions.

The kitchen/diner has slate floors and a large refectory table, and with stylish furnishings throughout, making this a splendid spot for a special family gathering.

Each of the three king-size double bedrooms have en-suite facilities, with the ground floor bedroom perfect for less mobile guests.

The lawns at the front of the cottage overlook the sweeping river valley, and provide a glorious, sunny spot to prepare holiday plans together on summer afternoons.

There is also the welcome addition of a 6-seater hot tub, perfect for an evening soak under the stars.

SOUTH MOLTON

Combe Martin 19 miles; Ilfracombe 24 miles; Woolacombe 25 miles.

The attractive market town of South Molton is known as The Gateway to Exmoor and is ideally placed in North Devon, boasting a range of shops, amenities and a twice weekly market. Being pleasantly situated not far from both coastal and inland beauty spots it will suit visitors of all tastes. In close proximity are forests, moors, rivers and coast, with churches and other buildings of historical significance. Residents find the quiet charm of the area attractive and visitors soon experience the sense of civic pride held by the locals. There is superb walking on the South West Coast Path and the North Devon beaches are varied and interesting. Visit the National Trust's Watersmeet Gorge, Valley of the Rocks and the funicular cliff railway. Up on Exmoor, there are various walks to suit all abilities, as well as highlights such as Tarr Steps, Landacre Bridge and the village of Withypool. Further afield, the resorts of Ilfracombe and Combe Martin are well worth a visit, and for some of the best beaches in the country, visit Woolacombe and Saunton and Croyde.
