“The fresh eggs and homemade cake were a lovely surprise on arrival and were enjoyed by all throughout the week.”

The venue offered a tranquil relaxing stay. The hot tub was a keen favourite for everyone. The stars were amazing on a clear night. The house was clean and cosy. The kitchen was a great place to gather, enjoying home cooked food and conversation, on a large beautifully crafted wooden table, although the table isn't flat, making eating and serving up a little precarious at times. Generally a well equipped kitchen, although it was ashame the aga was decommissioned, so out of use. A couple of things would have made cooking for a large party a little easier, sharpened knives, the few remaining are very blunt and more of them, a few smaller sized frying pans.. Otherwise pretty good collection of pots and pans. The property advised that you are provided with bed linen and towels, so we didn't bring anything. The bed linen was fine, but we only had 6 towels for 11 people for the week, which was not enough. Especially as you are also using them for the hot tub, you were left trying to dry off with damp wet towels. The wood burner in the living is a homely touch, but unfortunately is missing the seal, making the room smokey. It also meant that it burnt it's way through the wood at a fair pace. Hopefully this will get fixed for the winter. Overall a pleasant and enjoyable stay, would definitely recommend.

Hi Lisa, glad you enjoyed your stay in general. Just to answer a few points you made the booking for 6 people in Hazel that is why you were supplied with 6 bath towels and hand towels. We supplied towels for the booking you made with Sykes which i have double checked. Hazel is a self catering property as discussed so most people bring extra towels for beach and hot tub etc. If you had asked for more towels which you didn't at any point we would have happily supplied them. An oil fired AGA is extremely difficult to master and also run and service. The range cooker provided is very large and never been a problem for even large parties over Christmas. You did mention the knives on the day you were leaving again we have spares as they do tend to go missing there is also a sharpener in the draw (i just checked). Regarding the fire you asked for logs which we supplied as your father was cold, we don't supply logs until the end of October and our fires are maintained by a Mensa approved sweep. Hazel will be completed on the 15th October, although i could not find any missing seal these will be checked. I would also add for people reading your feedback that it was 23 degrees and your party had switched off most of the thermostats on the radiators due to it being too warm. We are onsite and happy to help with any issue raised with us , it is therefore disappointing that you waited until you got home before commenting. Property Owner
